In order to thank and salute the global heroes who emerged in white-coat to save humankind from the deadly virus, this year’s National Doctor’s Day on July 1 becomes more significant. This special day is celebrated to thank them for their immense contributions to mankind. Since 1991, National Doctor’s Day has been celebrated across the nation every year. This day is celebrated on different dates across the world.

The Covid pandemic has once again made us realize the contributions and sacrifices made by doctors and nurses and by health workers around the globe.

Today in MPM Hospital also felicitates their Doctors, Sisters & the nursing staff by providing a memento and a certificate of appreciation for their outstanding dedication and service to the patients who came to MPM Hospital Jagdalpur.

Director Rev. Fr. Tom Arackal address the gathering and said National Doctor’s Day was first observed in order to pay respect to the legendary physician and Bengal’s former Chief Minister, Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, to recognize and appreciate his contributions in the field of medicine. This day is only celebrated to acknowledge the role of doctors in the progress of the nation. Kudos to their high spirit and dedication and love that they continued to work in the hour of crisis. During the 2nd Wave of Covid -19 from 23rd March 2021 to 01st July 2021. It being 100 days of unstoppable service. We are grateful to medical fraternity, frontline workers specially Dr. Vinay Kumar Kachhap, Dr. Pawan C Rao and his team for going above & beyond the call of duty to alleviate human sufferings. On this occasion of doctor’s day from this stage I also like to thank the district administration for their valuable support and guidance during these days.

The chairman of the society His Excellency Bishop Rt. Rev. Fr. Dr. Joseph Kollampramabil said in his speech During the Covid outbreak, the medical doctors and staff worked 24×7, risking their lives as well as their family’s lives, trying to make an attempt to save several lives. Instead of thinking about themselves, they have put the nation first and chose to save India. We are grateful to medical fraternity, frontline workers for going above & beyond the call of duty to alleviate human sufferings.
